About ExVac

Set up in 1982 and granted charity status in 2002, ExVac runs two holidays each year for children aged 7-11 from the Oxford area. The children who come on the trips are from families facing difficult times who have been put in touch with us through Oxfordshire Social Services.

For many, these holidays provide an invaluable opportunity. Children are encouraged to try new things such as canoeing, pottery painting, and even visiting a theme park. Located in the New Forest, our holidays allow the children to experience the outdoors and enjoy life in the countryside. In a whole new environment, the children quickly adapt and form new friendships, making the week enjoyable for all.

The holidays are entirely student-run and our 1:2 leader-to-child ratio means that all the children receive individual attention, allowing them to get the most out of this new experience. Our volunteers are specially selected for their dedication and enthusiasm, and are committed to making the holidays the best they can possibly be. The holidays are completely free for the children who attend and we are therefore entirely reliant on fundraising and the generosity of our donors. For more information about fundraising please click here.
